Contraception: the Computer Game

Contraception the Computer Game on CD. Contraception the Computer Game was produced by Contraception Education in partnership with Information Plus, Social Learning Software. Launched in 7th Janaury 2004. Positively reviewed by Sally McKeown and Graham Hart in the Times Educational Supplement. Using an on screen version of Contraception the Board Game, young people think through a range of sexual health issues and choices, the aim of the game is for players to collect information on a range of sexual health resources which can be printed and retained after the game is over. On the way players land on “Question”, “Risk” and “Choices” spaces, which not only test their safe sex knowledge but also help them learn to evaluate risky sexual behaviour and think through choices. The underlying aim is to encourage responsible decision making, reduce unplanned pregnancies, and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases or unintended sex.
